Subj: City Update on Hurricane
We attended a meeting at the City today to discuss storm preparation. Note
the following:
· CCity will be issuing evacuation notices (mandatory and voluntary) in
the next 24 hours. As of the time of the meeting that had not determined the
exact boundary of the mandatory evacuation, but it seems likely that it
will be at least from Grand Avenue to the beach. They are waiting on
information from the County OEM who is waiting on the State before they issue
this
info via Code Red.
· GGiven the above, the City would like us to close the boardwalk at 4pm
on Sunday. You may also choose not to open at all tomorrow, but if you do,
you must close down at 4pm (we are going to post this on Face Book to
detract folks from coming down past 4pm).
· AAll benches, planters, newspaper boxes, and signs on the boardwalk
railing are to be removed tomorrow (we may start tonight, but are at minimum
scheduled to begin removal at 8 am tomorrow). Benches will be placed on the
2nd, 4th, and 6th Avenue greenspaces and laid on their backs.
· MMeter parking is not currently being enforced (until further notice)
· TThere will be another meeting at the City sometime tomorrow for
further updates once more info is received from County (time TBD). Any info
above
could change subject to this meeting.
