The machine I am on runs Ubuntu 12.04, 64 bit.
I followed the instructions on the Building ASCEND page. The pre-requisite
packages installed fine.
However, when I entered the command :
svn co svn://ascend4.org/code/trunk ascend ,
I get the following output :
svn : Can't connect to host 'ascend4.org': Connection time out
The network I'm on uses a Proxy to connect to the internet. Could this be
the source of the problem?
I later tried downloading the i386 ubuntu12.04 .deb file. Installing this
didn't work. My package manager cited this with broken dependencies, and
the package manager fails to work after this. So I don't think this would
be the right way to go.
On the building Ascend page, there wasn't a mention of the 64-bit
equivalent.
I downloaded the ascend-devel-0.98-0.f17-x86_64.rpm file. But I don't know
how to go about the process.
Can someone help me fix the problem.
