Hi John, Thanks for your reply. It would be nice to see Ascend participating in GSOC again. Did you get time to update the ideas list for GSOC 2014, because http://ascend4.org/GSOC2014 looks empty ?
Meanwhile, I have already started getting involved by checking out and building the Ascend source code from source on my linux mint machine (no problems ... yay !!!!! ). I also tried making ascend models for some equations from my college course-work (attached). I will be trying to show my understanding of the code by working on some of the bugs in Ascend's bug repository. And then may be work on the student application when the Ideas list is ready.
