Great news - ASCEND has been accepted for participation in GSOC2015

student projects which might interest you.
Besides, as a starting point I would suggest download the code, compile and
run some models. It would be good to play around with the tool and have a
thorough understanding of the tool. There is a bug tracker for ASCEND, have
a look and feel free to contribute.
