Hi Shrutika

Thanks for your further email, and your careful analysis. From your attached document, I feel that you did a pretty good job of breaking down how the integrator API works. You can see that there is a fair bit of code involved in 'interpreting' the ASCEND model and converting it into the lower-level data structures required for the numerical algorithms of eg DOPRI5.

Ksenija's implementation of IDA is considerably more complex than the DOPRI5 solver that you looked at, because much work is involved in handling the WHEN and EVENT syntax that she implemented. I recently attempted to make use of her syntax in a new model; you can see my work at http://code.ascend4.org/ascend/branches/ksenija2/models/johnpye/solardynamics.a4c?view=markup&pathrev=2849 (but it's not working yet).

If you think that you can propose a topic related to the dynamic model as previously discussed, then I would be happy to see it. I looked at your attachment, but it didn't seem to be related to the spreadsheet import/export topic that you named.

Cheers
JP

Respected John Pye Sir,

Thank you Sir for your valuable suggestions. I did a deep study of the links you suggested and tried to fix the bug but I haven't succeeded yet. I am still working on it and will get back as soon as it is done. I familiarized myself with the code in the 'ksenija2' folder of your repository and have summarized whatever I could understand in the attached document. I also went through a project named "Export/Import ASCEND models to Open Office spreadsheet". I wish to know do we have to write the code to extract data from ASCEND model and represent it in tabular form under this project. Please have a look at the attached file and correct me if I misunderstood something. Kindly guide me with the further steps to get a better understanding of the various aspects of the project.

Thanks,
Shrutika Gulati
