For anyone who is interested, I have a clone of asciidoc with slidy support integrated now.
https://phillordbio-asciidoc-fixes.googlecode.com/hg/ Apologies for the name, Stuart, which implies asciidoc is broken, which it isn't. So far, I have basic slidy working, producing a presentation. It uses the asciidoc style sheets, so you get slides that look like asciidoc. It has an integrated copy of slidy.js and slidy.css, and if you set the -a data-uri option, then you get an all-in-one HTML file (this required one small change to slidy.js, unfortunately). There is also trivial support for incremental, and I've fiddled with the bulletted list presentation a bit, to remove the paratags on each list item; in practice this compacts the lists somewhat, which is useful in slides. It should be a clone of asciidoc head, at least if I am understanding mercurial correctly.
