There is currently a lack of consensus on whether the timer feature
should be in basic or advanced mode in VPL 1.4.
The argument for moving it to the advanced mode is that it is not
following the same "instantly event-driven" paradigm as the other basic
blocks.
The argument for keeping it in the basic mode is that it is easier to
understand than states and allows relatively simple and quite
interesting behaviours, and is very useful in conjunction with the music
block.
If you have been running VPL workshops, in particular with schools,
could you please share your opinion on that point?
