The new document starts with some of the visual programs in the VPL
tutorial

and explains their translations into textual programs (the language is
called AESL) that appear on the right-hand pane of the VPL window. If
the students are already familiar with the VPL programs in the
tutorial, this should facilitate learning AESL.
