Greetings! I have a newbie (maybe dumb) question, about index and searchd executables.
Let's say I install aspseek successfully on server a. Let's say I create identical directory structure for server b, but all conf files point to server a. Can I copy index and searchd from server a, where they were configured and installed, and run them on server b? What I mean is, if the directory structure is identical on server b, and if the conf files point back to server a, then it should work, right? What I'm looking to do, is distribute indexing on another server and have it write all data (mysql and var) to server a, although it is being run on server b. In a nutshell, must you install aspseek on a server in order to run aspseek on a server? Will index and searchd run on a server they were not installed on, only copied to? Thanks, JohnP Santiago
