Hi folks and happy holidays to everyone!

My question has to do with making changes while a large indexing is in the works. I
have an index on two separate servers that has taken nearly a month now and neither
one is finished yet. I've asked a few questions and have received some answers but
I don't want to have to restart my process each and every time.

I guess I don't really understand how the config file works. It seems as thought it
is read and re-read by each index child as it does it's job. I thought however that
it might adjust itself to what ever changes I've made in the config file but this
does not seem to be the case.

So the question is, how can I change the config file while not having to restart
the entire process?
Or, how can I kill the process, then restart it where it left off?

It seems that each time I use index -E and then restart, it restarts everything
from scratch and I end up waiting a very long time again for the run to complete.

Thanks for ANY help you can provide on this.

Mike
