No "cvs" is supposed to appear here! The command
export CVSROOT=:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/cvs
is just meant to set the environment variable CVSROOT to the required
value before you start using cvs.

> cvs [export aborted]: or set the CVSROOT environment variable.
Can't reproduce this, but what kind of shell are you using? If it's
csh or tcsh or something similar try to replace
export CVSROOT=:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/cvs
(which works for sh, bash and ksh) by
setenv CVSROOT :pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/cvs
Everything else hopefully should work unchanged.
