1,First "Everyone" is a group, not every account on the server. Second, if you
want anonymous access, uncheck any authentication other than anonymous in the
Directory Security.
2,If you take out host header, what url you use to access ? ip ? this should
be pure permission issue, look at the IIS log entries, which account was denied
access? also get filemon from sysinternals.com to help you trace
hope these helps

I've got a tricky problem... I have a W2K3 Server with IIS 6.0 that
had ASP.Net 1.1. This server hosts several websites, all using the
same IP Address and host headers to access each one of them.I had
some subwebs with 1.1 that where accessed from the root web with no
problem. I've migrated to ASP.Net 2.0 and the root is working fine
but all the subwebs now ask me for authentication. This
authentication (popup asking username/password) doesn't seem to
accept any kind of username / password, including Administrator, etc.
I've created a new Application Pool for ASP.Net 2.0 applications and
got all the webs and subwebs using 2.0 to use this pool. The problem
continues. I've also changed the Idendity of the Application Pool to
the administrator account and the ASPNET account. I've also set
permissions for Everyone Full Control for ALL the webs and subwebs
folders and files.
If I take the host header of the website out, there is no request for
authentication and everything works just fine... But this way only
one website works fine, all the others using Host Headers give me the
same problem :(
Can you please help me? I've searched all I could on the internet and
found 0 tips...
Thank you very much!
