It is not created till the ItemDataBound event.

Then you can find it and manpipulate it.

<asp:Repeater id-"xxxx"   OnItemDataBound="blah" >

sub Blah(s as system.object, e as
System.Web.UI.WebControls.RepeaterItemEventArgs)
    If e.Item.ItemType = ListItemType.Item
       ctype(Repeatername.findcontrol(textbox),ctype)
       ...
    End if 
end sub
