The answer to this is simple READ CAREFULLY this is 30 years of wisdom

1.

The session end happens after 20 minutes of inactivity and due to
bugginess it MAY not always happen.

2.
Smart developers building ultra-reliable systems store "token" data in
sessions and real data in Databases.

Anything someone tells you you want to keep you put in a Database
IMMEDIATELY then and associate all that database data with a token.

Then you always have all their data even if session end NEVER fires.

3.
Its ok for speed to keep a copy of DB Data in the session (although
ASP.net cache objects would be 1000 x better place) to save DB hits to
read it but DB hits are not as bad as you think if coded well.
