For your first question, try setting the BorderColor equal to
the background color, or the BorderWidth equal to zero.
For your second question, you can set ItemStyle-Wrap equal to
false (I'm not sure if you can do this in the DataGrid tag or if you
need to declare boundcolumns and set it there; a simple test will tell).

Any way to remove the actual lines but keep the distances? Also, I have
a paging dataset, but unfortunately it shrinks and grows in
proportion to the string length of the fields. Can I get it to
maintain size?
