Actually both are compiled to the Common Language Runtime so there is no
speed difference anymore. It is a matter of what you are more comfortable
with. If you used to be a VB programmer than naturally vb.net would be your
taste and if C++ then C# that is how it usually goes.

1)have a look at some tutorials and quick starts.
2)asp.net is for internet or intranet.
You can code in either vb.net or c#
There is some difference between the two but at this early stage u
should treat them as equivalent.
