Mike,

Why not point your step at a sproc which does both jobs? Or even put a
trigger on table1 that stores delete records somewhere automatically?

Subject: [AspNetAnyQuestionIsOk] sql question

Not a .net question, more of a enterprise manager question.

I have a task running each night that compares 2 tables and deletes
items from table 1 if they are not in table 2. What I would like to
have happen is to before I do my delete, do a select statement and
store those results in a temp table before I do the delete...just
incase an errors happens along the way. My problem is, I don't know
how I can loop through a query and put those records into a table by
using a job in the sql server agent. Would it be eaiser/better to
setup a DTS package and do it in steps that way?
