Is ODP the OO40 key in the registry?
>>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 06/21/2005 8:35:25 AM >>>
I have a desktop app which requires that the machine has OracleClient
and ODP.net on it.
I am trying to figure out how to check for ODP and Oracle on startup.
As it is now ...
For Oracle Client:
i am reading the registry for Oracle_Home to see if OracleClient is
installed.
For ODP:
I am searching the filesystem for System.Data.OracleClient.dll to
check for ODP.
Does anyone know of a better way to check for these?
Or ... does anyone know where the ODP registry key is, so that i can
get rid of the file search and just read the registry?
thanks,
david
