In my humble opinion the java script has no place in a code behind. That is server side code that should handle UI interaction (Model). Javascript stuff should be in an external file that is linked within your aspx page. I am by no means one of the more senior guys/gals on this list though so they might have some reason why you would put it in the code behind.
