hmm.... depends what you want to do online from your web app. as charles mentioned you could jsut make web forms to interact with a db or whatever. then you can also enable web stuff from yoru winforms http://www.vbdotnetheaven.com/Code/Aug2003/2141.asp
meaning you can hit web services and pages .... for example if you have a server that has a page that returns xml based on a query, or a similar web service. your winforms could target those features.
