An application that is not a web app doesn't need caching as defined in
ASP.NET. To state the obvious, if data is needed for the life of the
program don't delete the data. To have the data depend on some external
entity such as a file, have a separate thread use FileSystemWatcher to
monitor the file. When the file changes, the program can read the file
and refresh its data in memory.

Subject: [C#.NET] Using Cache in windows service appliation.

Hi,

Is it possible to use Data Caching in a windows service application in
C#.
I want to store a dataset in a cache with a File Dependency to it.
The problem I am facing is I am not able to place the object into a
cache.
"How to store a object into a cache in a windows based application."
Any sample code or references to other websites will be much
appreciated.

Regards,
Krishnan
