that is just my old way of thinking. 
i am not sure about anything new with the FSO.

check out the Win Zip command line add-on:

it requires a fully licensed version of WinZip though.
we use it for many scenarios.

I am creating an application that will take a group of files and
directories
and zip them up and copy them from one server to another. I want to

advantage of VS 2005 and anything new that .Net 2.0 may offer. Can
anyone
point me in the right direction to find information on how to archive
(preferable ZIP) files and folders in a VB.Net application.
