Yes. And I tried an index of 0 and 1 with the same results.
The DG should be accessible b/c I can do this and get the correct output:
Response.Write("<br>ct = " + grdAllLoans.Items.Count.ToString());
So I know I have the ability to access the DG, just not sure why this doesn't
work.

Dean,
I'm getting the following error when I run the page:
System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Index was out of range. Must be
non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index
I tried changing the index but all values throw the same error. Any idea why?
Thanks,
Mark

Yes.
dg.Columns[2].HeaderStyle.CssClass = "SomeCSS";
