Technology Specialist
Boat People S.O.S., Inc. (BPSOS) is a national
Vietnamese-American community-based organization with 24 years of service.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead the
organizational development of Information Technology Support System for
our Headquarter and 13 remote offices totaling 80 users.
SALARY: Depending on experience and qualifications, plus benefits.
ESSENTIAL
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership and technical assistance
for all the computer systems of the organization: software, hardware
acquisition and inventory, internal server, backups, etc.;
- Design, plan, test and operate a nationwide
technical infrastructure composed of LANs/WANs as well as supervising of
Data Security, Network Connection, LAN/WAN IP Security, Routers,
Switches, Hubs, Firewalls, and LAN/WAN Network Equipments, and internal
phone-switching system;
- Supervise and monitor all network problems
related to domains, active directory, user accounts, and security
policies. Design, setup, install and manage LAN systems at Headquarters
and at Branch Offices;
- Provide support in Windows 2000/XP; network
and client/server operations in installation, upgrade and maintenance of
software/hardware components;
- Develop IT strategy to meet the IT needs of
the organization;
- Develop, update and maintain BPSOS
websites;
- Oversee troubleshooting and technical
assistance for developing, building, testing and maintaining
server/workstation, firewall, security networks, and virus protection;
- Recruit, train, and supervise IT staff,
(work-study and intern), and volunteers;
Organize information
workshops, training seminars, and conferences;
Develop blueprint
manual and set IT standards for new branch offices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Certification in Computer Technology or
equivalent experience;
- 3+ years of experience with IT support in
Win2k network environment;
MCSE and A+ certification;
- Working knowledge of setting up and
maintaining MS Exchange/Outlook and Microsoft IIS Servers;
- Excellent problem solving and communication
skills, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of
a team;
