Position Title: TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION COORDINATOR
Reports To: Executive Director
The Education Coordinator has responsibility for the operational
functions of the Internship Technology Academy, and coordinates
related activities involving Youth Programs Assistance and Tech Gap
Projects.
Position is Directly Accountable For:
Internship Technology Academy (ITA) operations; including, but not limited
to:
� Developing the TIA's annual activity plan and class schedule, and
coordinating with Community Academy to create division-wide class
schedule.
� Administering student admissions and financial aid application
process, coordinating application, class registration, and
orientation; and staffing financial aid selection committee process.
� Supervising intern academic performance, class completion, and skill
mastery; teaching classes; approving senior projects and recruiting,
orienting and matching project mentors with students, maintaining
student transcripts and certifying achievement of credential
requirements.
� Arranging, monitoring, and supervising externships, and providing
extern partners with ongoing support.
� Supervising students engaged in Work-For-Skills and Work-Study,
assigning duties, monitoring activities, documenting work and
reviewing performance.
� Developing workplace skills learning requirements and recruit and
support workplace skills teaching volunteers and learning
opportunities; identifying and facilitating student access to job
acquisition resources.
� Gathering and presenting ITA student and graduate process and
outcomes data for Byte Back's annual organizational review.
Education program coordination; including, but not limited to:
� Tracking the employer needs, new developments in technology, and
trends in technology training and education, and working with the
Executive Director to integrate evolving market requirements into
program plans.
� Reviewing and updating existing curricula based on teacher and
student evaluations and performance, and helping teaching volunteers
integrate modifications into their classes.
� Forming liaison with MindLeaders corporation and ensuring smooth
operation of all online learning operations.
� Identifying potential education program funding opportunities and
coordinating with operations staff to develop funding relationships.
� Devising process and outcome measurements for all programs based on
Byte Back's strategic and long-term plans, and creating procedures to
collect data for evaluations.
Position is Accountable as Part of a Team For:
Recruiting, orienting, training, and supervising volunteers for
teaching assignments.
Team: Technology Education Coordinator and Community Programs
Coordinator
Gathering and presenting organizational performance data to the board
of directors for annual review, evaluation, and planning.
Team: Executive Director and Technology Education
Coordinator, and Community Programs Coordinator, with board
volunteers.
Working with the Executive Director to turn relationships with area
employers and institutional leaders into working partnerships that
benefit Byte Back students with learning and employment opportunities.
Team: Executive Director, Technology Education Coordinator,
and Community Programs Coordinator.
Preparing job descriptions, assignments, and schedules for the Work
Study program. Team: Community Programs Coordinator, and Technology
Education Coordinator
Position Holds Accountable:
Work For Skills (WFS) and Work-Study students
Position Requirements:
Licensure, Certification, and Education:
The Education Coordinator must have at least a Bachelor's Degree. A
major in either technology- or education-related areas is desirable.
Occupational Experience:
The Education Coordinator must have at least three years' experience
in the development and implementation of learning programs and/or
adult education/training. Must have at least two years' supervisory
experience. Familiarity with computer technology applications and
the Information Technology field highly desirable. Experience in
working with adult, non-traditional learners highly desirable. Other
desirable experience includes employment directly relevant to the
function areas in this Position Description. Experience will be
considered on a cumulative basis.
Demonstrated Competencies:
All competencies required to carry out, or ensure the carrying out, of
the position's functions, including but not limited to: Information
technology development and application; technology-assisted learning
design; practical pedagogy; job development and occupational training
skills; and motivational and coaching skills. A mature outlook and
superior interpersonal skills are required, organizational and time
management skills a must for effective completion of the Technology
Education Coordinator functions.
$35,000 plus benefits
