Rahul,
Just an additional comment. I have spent a bit of time at the Maryland Technology Council, the Northern Virginia Technology Council, and a couple meetings at Tie-DC (formally the Indian ceo council). While these organizations have their good and bad points (e.g. money), they provide good business networking and good topics of industry interest. I find maybe 25% of the meetings fit my interest when it comes to substance. But from a business perspective, almost every meeting presents an opportunity to meet one additional person. I think a lot boils down to your goals. Everyone has an opinion on one group or the other. If you want to focus on technology or technical skills, I think groups like the ASP groups are great. At the same time, I agree it would be nice to have business networking with more of a focus or slant on tech. If you are interested in more pure business relationships, then I would seek out other options like those mentioned above. Just wanted to add my thoughts. By the way, my office is around the corner from you on 355 in G-burg. If you want to grab coffee one day let me know. :) Good luck, Paul Jonathan Hishmeh USAS Technologies, LLC Gaithersburg, Maryland Office Telephone: +1.240-683-9494 Mobile: +1.240-876-0551 http://www.usastechnologies.com -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Carlos Fernandez Sent: Tuesday, April 19, 2005 2:45 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [AspNetMetroArea] Attn: Entrepreneurs, Consultants, Product Vendors , Tech Networking Groups Hi Rahul, I just read your post and am very interested in meeting you and seeing how we can help one another out. All the usergroups don't spend even 15 minutes to put time into pure sales networking. LinkedIn, Ryze, they all have been wasting my time. Their intentions were good, but I think nothing beats face to face meetings. I would like to spend time with a few people at a time to see if it's possible exchange services, contacts, so and so forth. Please email me if you are interested in meeting in the D.C. Area. These are the places that I think are good for techtype networking and scmoozing. - Common Grounds - Near Clarendon Metro Stop . Great place to work and get coffee. I go there every friday to work. I'm open to meeting people there. - Tryst - Adams Morgan, DC . Just went there yesterday. Great place to get coffee, drinks. Free WIFI and great music. - Equinix Datacenter - Asburn . I can reserve a 16 person private conference room for 2 hour increments. - Dave and Busters OR Chillis Rockville - White Flint Metro . - Any other places if people are open to suggestions. - Clydes - Reston Town Center - Clydes - Tysons Corner - eCiti - Tysons Corner I am a very open and likeable person and can blend with many different types of people. Please don't hesitate to contact me. I think we get together and see how we can help each other out by communicating what we do, what we sell, etc.. Please get in touch with me directly either by phone or email. Rahul Singh CEO, Anant http://www.anant.us 7036555652 | 18772626826x1 Yahoo! Groups Links Yahoo!
