We have an IMMEDIATE need for a mid or senior level Access Developer, for a 2 - month consulting assignment in Baltimore. Project Overview: The client needs to rapidly develop an MS Access based system (5 weeks development, 3 weeks user testing and implementation) that will be deployed to various salesmen to take on customer visits. This application will capture various customer profiles and attributes and provide them with proposed pricing. Data will be captured and then exported to a corporate Sales Management application. Due to continued growth from the Small to Medium business (SMB) market segment, it is critical that the client is able to quickly price and close deals to minimize the cost to acquire customers in this lower margin segment. By automating the pricing of deals and contract creation for SMB customers, the client will have the opportunity to have BDMs (Business Development Managers) handle a greater volume of prospects and capture data in a structured manner, thereby reducing acquisition costs. System Goals: * 50% reduction in the time required in the process of pricing through contract execution for SMB contracts by eliminating duplicate customer contract data. * Automate SMB price offer and contract process, automate upload of contract data into SMIS. * Capture 100% of matrix price offers being made in the SMB market facilitating statistical analysis. * Although the application is being developed for the client's internal use initially, it is expected that the application will be expanded so that the client's customers can obtain their own pricing via the web. Technical Attributes: The system will initially be an Access based application for prototyping and piloting. Once proven it will be migrated to a Web-based environment. The client anticipates that this tool will be used by multiple regions on both an internal and external basis. As the functionality is developed, focus will be placed on configurability, to make configuration changes as the client adds new markets as opposed to programming changes. The system needs to track entry of data and changes to data by user id and with a time/date stamp. Required System Security Levels: * Read Only - Able to view offers and contracts. * BDM - Able to enter customer data, produce offer, produce contract. * Sales Manager - Able to review offers and contracts, override promo code to reduce by maximum of 4 mils, mark a contract as customer signed. * Pricing - Able to upload daily price matrix, enter/maintain promo codes. * Contracts - Able to review offers and contracts, export contracts, export customer information. * Admin - Set up and maintain user lists and corresponding access; able to set up new markets and other market configurable tables (i.e. rate codes, service charges). Required Skills: * Mid or Senior-Level Developer with strong Access Development skills. * Strong Excel skills are needed as well as there will be complex calculations and formulas needed to present the customer with pricing alternatives.
