Our large, well-known client in Baltimore has an immediate need for a
C# Web Developer. For your first project, you will be on a team with
4 other developers and a DBA. You will be developing a new
application from scratch; this application will form the core for the
new enterprise application architecture across the company.
This is a full time employee position with our client.
The Mid-Level .Net Developer is responsible for the design,
development, and integration of software applications. This involves
developing C# .NET and VB.NET software components, stored procedures,
and interoperable office tools that interact with SQL 2000 data
stores.
The position requires an enthusiastic, hands-on role in architecting,
designing, and building a suite of Web-based business applications
that will stand the test of time and scale as appropriate to meet
continuing business requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
o Assist in the assessment of business requirements leading to
platform and solution architecture and system design
o Contemplate, define, document, communicate, and monitor
application software architecture
o Prepare detailed design specifications for programs and operations
to comply with and meet business requirements as well as
architectural standards and policies
o Design, develop, and maintain C# .NET and VB.NET software
applications and Web sites using a SQL Server backend and Visual
SourceVault
o Code, test, and debug complex programs
o Code, test, and debug XML data stores
o Perform regular code deployments
o Perform as needed upgrades, configurations, and regression testing
using 3rd party components
o Be available to provide production support of the system on a 24
X7 basis
o Evaluate, advise, recommend, and introduce new technologies in
support of company products and scenarios
o Understand and execute consistent version control and
configuration management practices
o Mentor junior level programmers. Perform code review.
o Participate in quality assurance review
Requirements:
o Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline, or
equivalent experience
o 2-4 years of XML development experience
o 4-6 years of application development experience in a Microsoft
Environment
o 4-6 years of development experience in ASP.net, Visual C++, C# and
SQL-Server
o Extensive experience in SQL-Server with stored procedures and
triggers
o Experience programming in an Object-Oriented environment
o Full project lifecycle experience
o Experience in the following technologies is also desired: XML and
JavaScript
o Knowledge of UML, RUP, or similar design languages/methodologies
is a plus
o 4-6 years of experience developing Microsoft SQL database and Web-
based applications (e.g., Microsoft .NET framework, Microsoft
structured queries, stored procedures and triggers)
o In-depth expertise with XML data stores in a highly scalable OLTP
environment
o Ability to build controls and extend existing controls using
the .NET framework
o Designing and developing comprehensive 3-Tier and N-Tier
architectures in a business systems environment, leveraging COM and
COM+
o Ability to analyze system requirements
o Very strong architecture and data modeling skills
o Effective communication of project progress, requirements, and
tasks with technical and non-technical colleagues and management
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
o Excellent documentation skills
