Guwahati: Setting aside all speculation, the ULFA nominated People's Consultative Group (PCG) is all set to hold talks with the Centre in New Delhi from Tuesday.

From the agenda of the talks to the number of participating PCG members, confusion prevailed not only among the general people but even among the PCG members.

''We are going tomorrow afternoon,'' said PCG member Haidar Hussain.

Mr Hussain is one of the four members of the nine-member PCG invited by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for the next round of talks.

This had caused confusion among the PCG members. ''We have decided not to break rank and will go together,'' said another PCG member Lachit Borodoloi.

Earlier, the PMO had invited Mr Lachit Bordoloi, Mr Haidar Hussain, Mr Ajit Bhuyan and Mr Brajen Gogoi for the talks, leaving out the other five. The PCG, however, decided to attend the meeting in full strength.

The PMO, did not clarify why it wanted to talk to only four members of the Group. The ULFA rejected any 'secret talk' and instructed all the PCG members to attend the talks.

The PMO was yet to state whether it would talk to all the nine members.

The PCG was formed by the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) to talk to the Centre on its behalf to prepare the grounds for it to come directly to the negotiation table.

Beside the nine members Jnanpith awardee Indira Goswami and Mr Rebati Phukan were nominated as intermediaries.
