hmmm.. I was also confused about what has Ram to do with Taliban. :-( While thinking and digesting new (to me at least) terms like 'Secular Taliban', 'JNU mafia' etc; Mr. Athale seemed to me some near-cousin of N.S. Rajaram and Dr. Natwar Jha. Because he is also one discovering himself overnight as 'historian' without first studying how historians really work.
