In 2010 hundreds of millions of people around the world showed their support by turning off their lights for one hour. This year too, pledge your support and turn off your non-essential lights for one hour at 8.30pm on Saturday, 26 March 2011. Dear Members, The United Nations Secretary-General has also agreed to participate in the “Earth Hour 2011” led by the global conservation organization World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The event organizers once again plan to turn off the lights for one hour on Saturday 26th March 2011 at 8:30 pm (local time). Secretary-General is encouraging all New York-based United Nations Funds and Programmes to take part in this initiative and turn off the lights for one hour in their respective field offices, to the extent possible. We request all members of Climate Change Community to participate in the “Earth Hour 2011” to make it a grand success.
