Forest livelihoods and Rights for Sustainable natural resource management
(FOREST) addresses inequitable distribution of benefits from forest
resources in the high ly sensitive forest zones. The project aims to
improve forest fringe communities' ability to gain access to, control over
and equity in sharing forest products and forest management in State. FOREST
interventions include:

1) facilitation to develop effective systems for community-based
natural resources management in which forest fringe communities make
decisions and take responsibility for sustainable management of forest
resources;

2) 2) establishment of local, district and regional communication
channels and coordinating systems through Forest Forums; and

3) 3) Facilitation to develop effective NGO coordination, networking
and advocacy for pro-poor policy reforms and a national civil society voice
in the forest sector.

natural resources conservation for more than 200,000 people in the
