Guwahati, Aug 6 (PTI) The incumbent Chairman of North Eastern Tea Association (NETA) Bidyananda Barkakoty has been re-elected for the second time for the term 2011-13. Barkakoty successfully completed his first tenure 2009-11 and members of the association unanimously elected him for a second term, according to a press release issued by NETA. A Mechanical Engineer by qualification, Barkakoty belongs to a tea planter's family which has been in the industry continuously for five generations. Barkakoty co-owns Nandapur and Mahalaxmi Tea Estates alongwith his father.
