Meanwhile, a delegation of EMFA met the State chief minister Tarun Gogoi on December 10 at his official residence and invited him for the award function, which he had accepted happily. The delegation also briefed the chief minister about various problems faced by the television journalists and non-journalist employees. They also demanded a cumulative fund for the benefit of media persons in Assam. The chief minister instantly agreed to the demand and proposed for a corpus fund where the proprietors, media persons and the government can contribute. The chief minister also assured the necessary help and co-operation to the EMFA (and Guwahati Press Club) to have a plot of land in the prime location of the city for building a modern campus of media persons. The new media campus is understood to include an ultra-modern media centre, auditorium with V Set facility, recreation room, guest house etc. _______________________________________________ assam mailing list assam@assamnet.org http://assamnet.org/mailman/listinfo/assam_assamnet.org
