It is really a matter of great pleasure and pride that a large number of non-resident
Indians with roots in Assam have been living in different parts of the world who have
made their mark pursuing different professions. Needless to say that NRIs of Assam
origin have also been contributing immensely to the betterment of their mother
country. With a view to establish contacts,familiarze the children of Assam NRIs with
Assam and its people and more importantly for renewing the bond,"Prabasi Asomiya
Sanmilan Organizing Committee" would like to have a NRI Convention of all the NRIs
from Assam at Guwahati towards the December end of 2003. The Convention, apart from a
platform for reunion would also various interaction sessions with the NRIs for
obtaining their valuable counsel in different for a furturistic growth and development
of Assam.
In view of this we seek your advice and guidance as to how this venture should be
organized. Kindly pass on the information of this proposed NRI Convention in Assam to
all the NRIs of Assam origin. We strongly feel that you have a very important role to
play by providing and counseling with vast amount of entrepreneurial and intellectual
inputs for meaningful and enduring development of your mother State.
