Assam is the most disgusting place of bribes I ever experienced during my whole study life. There one need to give bribes to get academic trascripts, one need to give bribes to get the scholarship/fellowship money from Board of (higher) education. During course of long study life in different parts of India (and outside), I never experienced such disgisting things as in Assam. Its shame of Asomiya society, as every officers dream to construct RCC house after a year of their joining.
I got my national scholarship for Master over 2 years after my MAster study completion, only after making atleast 6 personal visits and even by bribing officers in board of higher education, Kahilipara, Guwahati. To get academic transcripts from Guwahati University, my brother had to bribe the official. Even after bribes, I got them after 5 months of application, means no use for me. I paid Rs 250/ for each of 9 academic transcripts (Total Rs 2250/). I left Assam to get rid of such dirty experiences further. Sometimes I just wonder, is whole of Asomiya society got corrupted? If universities, education depertments are practicing dirty corruption, which other place could be honest? I wrote this mail with lots of pain.
