Sometimes I wonder, what is the state of assamese literature today? Sometimes I wonder if we will be short of assamese short story writers or novelists in near future. Or we have already reached that state. If we look at the market we dont see many new books by new writers. I dont want to say there are no new writers in assamese literature. There are some writers coming up with some wonderful works, but they are very few in number. Why is it like that? Is it some kind of cycle where we can expect a lot of wonderful works by some new writers in another era or we are going to an age where we will have a collection of literary works by some people whom we only remember on their death anniversaries?
Of course, dont ask me WHY DONT YOU START WRITING, I will have to admit that I cannot. But I can admire and I guess good works need some admirers too!
Any comment, netters?
