Hi,
I had to write this definition of God because History professors in the West have written books about spiritual leaders of the world --showing that 60% of the world's population --living in Asia-- has a very archaic notion of God and warperd notions of spirituality.
Thanks to globalisation --now I am able to read their parochial books -while still in India --though their Indian reprints --Gemini Books, C-4 BAsement, Malviya Nagar, Delhi -available in the Children's Reference section of the select chain of bookstores in major cities -Crossword.

On the other hand, their notions of spirituality seem outdated to me --who has been brought up in Asia only --in "eastern " or Oriental culture.

Its a good book for West bound folks -to get an idea of the spiritual and social history of Europe nd America - the only topics the author is educationally qualified to write upon.
Samuel Willard Crompton teaches European and American history at Holyoke Community College, Massachusetts, USA.
He wrote the book in 2002 (copyright 2002 Bluwood Books, PO Box 460313, CA, 94146, USA) and its Indian reprint was published the same year.

Was it meant for South Asian consumption only?? --since only the existing Oriental faiths of South isa - Buddihism, Jainism, Hinduism, Zorasterism have been brutally misrepresented .
Red Indian, Jewish, Islam and Christian teaching have been well covered.
His mentioning Billy Graham as the 96th entry -among top 100 spiritual leaders as sahpers of world history -George Bush Jr's spritual head reminds me of the www.tehelka.com 's cover story of Jan 2004 -worrying about Billy Graham spearheading an evangelical mission in South Asia -with security overtones --through his disciple George Bush, Prez of USA .
Perhaps this book is an evangelical tool to penetrate the educated Asian readers and corrupt the minds of young school going children of South Asia with distorted view of the world history and culture.
