a case was presented fopr copying China in lobbying US gov and Univs and think tanks. The cure was good but the diagnosis of the problem was offkey.
Lot of data was presented how China's exports and imports to USA far exceed those of India's. In the fine print the author's missed the point that that trade was mostly of goods manufactured by US MNcs having units in China -and most of the profit reverted back to USA - with Chinese suffering all the environmental pollution , smoked out cities, lethal water bodies etc -as shown in National Geographic's last issue.
Does India want to become another colony -by going the China way.
I think India is going down the correct path - a David standing upto the Goliath!! Although in current times of economic warfare a lot of lobbying can help.
China , which officialy scrapped its Buddhist faith long back --is also a favourite of evangelists -who can hope to reap a full harvets of 1.2 billion people -equal to all muslim population of the world .
Why should we copy any country blindly?
