--- Begin Message ---Hi,Today I had some free time and decided to look up the Guiness World Records 2002 Book in our school library - may be the costliest book in there. It did humble me --and energised me to pull on -"so much to do and so little time"-as the Joker - actor Jack Nicholson - said in movie Batman - who too appears in the book -as getting the highest pay for the above role - $60 million - incl %age of profits. The first Indian was the photo of some man with world's longest nails -kept in circular folds. Seems he is a typical Indian - nice weather, no need to work - would even make lot of money as a beggar. The second was the Nehru-Gandhi family - which is the family which has the longest line of descendents becoming Top executives of a democratic county - Indian Prime Ministers. If u go by the standards set by the man with the longest nails -- it is not surprising that with noone else to do the work --poor Sonia Gandhi and son- poor Rahul have to bear the cross --and see the nation rise from beggary and poverty.Among other interesting entries --was the amazing photo of a bikini-clad Vietnamese girl who -with her two feet was shooting bull-eye arrows from a bow - at a target kept 5 metres away. In a sort of handstand - or legs above the head.A guy cycled 277 kms daily - to cover 21,000 kms around the world in 77 days -- great going - I remember my tiresome 150 km cycleday-night journey last year -to Khatu Shyamji pilgrim spot and back in 12 hours -- Hats off to this guy - inspires me to follow him. I wonder how he got all these visas - from Paris and back to Paris.Pig - heart doctor from Assam- A doctor replaced some faulty human heart valve with that of a pig --and it successfully wokrd for 22 years -hence in Guiness book . That was 22 years ago -he did the operation. Our very own US returned doctor performed aa similar operation just 2-3 years ago in Assam --and our ignormouses (incl me ) who do not read such Guiness records on a regular basis --- labelled him to be quack and put him in jail!!but it seems from this link I searched just now -that becos the Assam patient died he landed in jail- had he lived - maybe Dr would be in Guiness by now.Lesson from this??Should we all read Guiness records more??But given the high cost -atleast 1000 rupees $20/- perhaps some enterprsing printers in Delhi could do a little printing on their own.Should they??Umesh
