*** Saw the above headlines and pictures this morning at  the Assam Tribune website. Have Netters noticed how visiting Indian dignitaries' first stop is Kamakhya these days? No doubt, it is a homage the pious dignitaries pay to the Assamese gods as the first order of business, like their prayers before starting the days' work. It probably is a tribute to Assamese Culture .

But my question is this: Since when Kamakhya has become the primary symbol of Assamese
spiritual life -- or even religious life?

Or could it be an attempt  by vested interests to turn Assam into a Hinduttva 'tirtho'?
