A week ago, I had written about the Assam-Manipur Month celebration in
Milpitas, California. I enjoyed the exhibition put up by the Assamese
individuals of Northern California. There was a Manipur half to the
exhibition which I don't describe here. The items were assembled with a
lot of thought and presented with love and grace.

Here is a partial list of the items presented. I have been informed that
the items will be taken down next weekend. It would be wonderful to have a
place in North America where there is a permanent display of items such as
these.

I apologize in advance for any omissions that are unintentional.

>From the list below, you can imagine the amount of time that went into
preparing the exhibition:

1. A relief Map of NE India showing the terrains with important places.
Also shown the capital towns, each states area with population. The map
was created locally.

2. Posters of all the National Parks in Assam & Manipur. The posters
include name, total area, pictures & detail descriptions of the flora &
fauna of each park. The posters were all designed and created locally.

3. Examples of Assamese art and craft; textile samples; framed posters
and photographs of Assamese musical instruments and jewellery. The
photographing and framing were mostly done locally.
