Leicester of Great Britain,it seems, has come to be termed a Gujrati city.It has the highest population percentage of non-whites in Britain.I have been given to understand that all city council documents there are printed in Hindi,Gujrati and Urdu besides English.I am also told that the welcome sign at local railway station too carries all these languages.I think, most of them must have moved in after being expelled from Uganda in the early 1970s.Gujrati Hindus are the dominant community.
Is the name pronounced as LESTER or LESESTER? Bhuban kokaideo may be able to tell us.
