Our client is a leader in commercializing intellectual property
assets, using a business process outsourcing (BPO) model.
Headquartered in the Bay Area, the company has roughly 50 employees
worldwide, and is currently looking to expand its offshore delivery
and support team, to be based in Bangalore, India.
We are currently reviewing candidates for the position of Business
Patent Strategist based in Bangalore, to which end we welcome
receiving appropriate resumes and background material.
Specific responsibilities will include:
� Providing market and industry analyses, including value chain
development, industry/sector characterization, market sizing, key
participant characterization, relative position analysis and financial
analysis.
� Providing IP analyses including portfolio characterization, citation
analysis, theme analysis, portfolio comparisons, mapping IP in
particular technology sectors, key inventor analysis, key assignee
analysis and portfolio valuation analysis.
� Supporting licensing and business development executives in
complying with processes and ad hoc reporting (e.g. generating
licensing proposals, revenue summaries etc.), developing and
implementing work-plans, and preparing presentations based on sound
analyses for very senior corporate audiences.
The important background, skills and experience required for this
position are:
� Experience as an analyst or associate at a top tier consulting firm,
investment bank, law firm or VC firm
� Undergraduate degree from a rigorous technical program is important,
and a graduate degree in engineering, business or law is desirable.
� Expert level skills in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel and
PowerPoint, in particular) and the ability to quickly learn other
tools, like Excel macros, as necessary.
� Ability to perform in a "crunch time" / high stakes environment, and
to work smoothly in a team, using state-of-the-art technologies
� Comfort with ambiguity, particularly where required data is not
available and proxy data is required, along with the ability to liaise
with third party providers of information to ensure that tasks are
well-defined, and are delivered on time and to budget.
There will be significant opportunities to be part of a global team
effort, including working with customers and partners in Europe and
USA. This position offers an attractive compensation, bonus and
