I just gave an interview - I think my first-- to a reporter from Japan's daily: Chugoku Shimbun (Chugoku) . This daily had taken pictures at the time of Atomic bombings in Japan - as I saw in the seminar today, showing survivors of the bombing - two women . One of them actually saw the bomb falling from a B29 (?) bomber - but miraculously survived through burnt.
Despite surgery her hands still were disfigured. They were here in US to put pressure on NPT meeting in New York.
I was asked by the reporter regarding my comments about India and Pakistan and Osama.
That will India and Pakistan agree to disarm if USA and China agreed to do so. I think everone agrees to that but now I am still wondering how w can really destroy the nuclear weapons, when now the global terrorists (like Osama) are busy acquiring them.
But can nulcear weapons threat really deter Osama --since he has no kingdom to protect --and you cannot keep throwing nuclear bombs across the globe at all muslims etc --if you feel he would try to protect them ---blah blah blah
However, If the thiefs have the guns and we become holy angels - peace loving with magic wands to save our skins - how long will it be before we are ruled by devils.
What about chemical weapons like the one on Bhopal -had same effect a Hiroshima bomb.
I also wondered why the govts always punish the innocent and leave out the guilty. If Japan was guilty of not stopping the war, despite Germany's defeat-or even after the first atomic bomb then the next one should have been on the military head quarters of Japan and NOT on innocent people of small cities.
I have no answers to all these things.
Has anyone?
Umesh
