Some of you may have missed this. The writer makes some really good points.
Baloney again Sir,– 'Baloney against' is a famous song by Dire Strats. I see
thisbaloney in the invitation to talk with ULFA. Well, what is to bediscussed?
To discuss the ludicrous demand of independence? The ULFAis nothing but
parasites on our society. They started a revolution andcommanded respect from
all over Assam. But, they failed this trust ofpeople by murdering the cause.
The hypocrisy stared to unveil by theearly 90s when young boys of Assam were
sacrificed to feed the luxuryof leadership. The ideology is just a mirage in
this lap of oligarchiccornucopia. The only thing ULFA wants to exploit to place
theirdemands is fear. This fear is killing us, our people and our
God-sentopportunity to prosper.
It's time we must capitalise to bulid the "Assameseness", a culturebased on
knowledge, industry and liberty. Creation of knowledge andopportunities is what
we need the most at this moment of crisis. Ourachievements are too few to be
recognised by the world community. It'stime not to be happy by living
hermetically sealed, but to competewith the leaders of existing civilisation.
It is time we must lookforward with hope by killing our omnipresent fear. And
ULFA must knowthat they are fighting for nihilism showing their growing
frustration. No revolution can be won on the dead bodies of children and
women, that too of our own people. We must build our identity which
defeatsterrorism and commands respect and awe from the people around theworld.–
