Guwahati, May 13: Fancy Bazaar, citys most visited place for shopping is witnessing a comparatively less rush these days, thanks to the emergence of a good number of shopping malls and hubs in and around the city.
Of late, the Guwahatians, saw the emergence of some sophisticated shopping malls and hubs, luring people towards it and thereby claiming to quench their respective shopping thirst and that too under one roof.
Eastrends, one of the one-stop shopping malls, situated in Bhangagarh area, is already citys one of the most visited shopping stations and has been witnessing overwhelming response during the last six months, especially during the bygone Rongali Bihu. We cater to the needs of all the people coming from all the section of the society, said Pabati raj Gogoi, the caretaker of one of such stalls in Eastrends shopping mall.
He further revealed that prices of their products are quite reasonable to suit the pockets of middle class people but still there are people who carry the notion that it is meant for the elite group of people.
Peace Enclave, situated in Ulubari area is nearing its completion and boasts of having the largest parking space for the convenience of its customers, which otherwise is a problem in Fancy Bazaar.
Our main aim is to live upto the expectation of the middle class shoppers by providing them quality products at reasonable rates, informed Ashok Agarwal, the director of Kamrup Developers Pvt. Ltd, which is responsible for construction of Peace Enclave.
It may be mentioned here that as many as half a dozen new shopping stations will be on its way by the end of 2006 which includes Peace Enclave (Ulubari) and Dona Planet (Near Rajiv Bhawan).
Dona Commercial Complex, which is expected to be completed by next year, will also have Mini Theatres under its roof. Eastrends will also have Theatres with a capacity of accommodating around 300 viewers, informs a shopkeeper.
Lately, people from different nook and corner of the state have shown their longing ness for such outlets, signaling worries for the Fancy Bazaar shopkeepers who took their customers for granted before the arrival of this new wave of hubs and malls in the city. When asked as to why they have started preferring malls to Fancy Bazaar, Sanghita Mahanta, a shopping freak said Here we get to buy quality products at reasonable rates and that too with minimum of fuss.
