This is what I was talking about the role of NGOs for proper functioning of democracy. This is what is needed in Assam very badly. Assam need to wake up from its reacitionary mode to action mode. Let the reactionary groups step aside and make room for the action groups. Please.

Subject: [Assam] Rajasthan initiatives community (NGO) participation in governance

Hi,

Ijust read an article in Dainik Bhaskar www.bhaskar.com about an initiative of the Rajasthan Govt whereby there will be group discussion - every month --on various issues of development in Jaipur-- with the chief minister as the presiding person --and all NGOs and community leaders and bureacrats and politicians would be participating. Specifically there would be no lecturing, no speeches --just open discussions and maybe brainstorming.

It is called "Jaipur Agenda Action Group."

I think it is a positive move.

What do you think?
