In today's session of the Summer Program for Edu Ministry Officials -- there was a session by Prof. Tom Cassidy --on this topic. I have been always remained a bit "away" from him -ever since he sat next to me in my class on Edu Policy in Oct 2004 --and introduced himself in a low whisper - as Tom Cassidy-----immediately I got reminded on "Butch Cassidy and the SunDance Kid (later saw the Wild West movie also in Harvard library) --the sharp shooters.
He does have the same keen eyes and ruddy face and big mustache -- of cowboys - and has transformed the famed sharpshooting skills towards education --by his focus on Qualty -and zero defect system --- ofcourse the family tradition (assuming he is from the same famed family) of shooting duels does not allow for chances for making mistakes.
Together with Tall Prof. Hua ( 7 feet tall) - a Mongol from China and Scottish Highlander Prof. Tom Welsh --they make a formidable team in International Development through Education.
No wonder Lithunian Edu Ministry officials managed to revise their policy after a brief 20 minute presentation after a recent 7 day study of the issue by this team. I might get a CD of the 20 page material of the policy brief - in the session om Monday.
I would be packing and leaving by this month end for DC--after taking PRAXIS teacher tests this Monday or Tuesday --fro teacher licesnure required in DC area. Even am applying for a vacancy in Mongolia
