Hi,
I think I have now nearly seen all the things guys and gals do at Harvard - the lucky ones who had the time and money to spend while undertaking their education. It is only now after my classes are over I am drinking in all this stuff - so that I come across as an "authentic" Harvard graduate --wherever I go later on. Just today I told Mr Umesh - the land lord that I would be checking out. Had to pay $250 after much haggling . Feeling themoney pinch - but I think even if I worked for just 30 weeks - 24 hours daily at the pay I was getting while classroom cleaning - I can work up $50,000. But I think I can do better than that.
Plan to start tutoring job in DC in the evenings- as soon as I land --while doing job search in daytime. Even applied to Burma job.
Just saw 2 movies in Harvard's theatre in the Science center --which were shown free of cost to incoming students for the Summer School - most seemed high school students. Gives them a feel about the environment - the glamor stuff. Seems like 10 movies have been made on Harvard atleast.
The movies - I had never seen before - but I think I had heard of the title "Legally Blonde" - in which a "dumb blonde" beauty queen decides to go to Harvard Law School --and ultimately tops her class. http://a9.com/legally%20blonde?src="">
The second was about a Janitor at MIT who is a mathematical genius - "like Ramanujam being disocered by Hardy in Britain" --and has a girlfriend who studies medicine at Harvard--
More than the stories - it was the locale which was interesting - esp the aerial shots of the area which has become so familiar to me.
I think now I am all set to leave town.
